Art Hearts Fashion, presented by Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHF), ushered in a new era for LA Fashion Week. Sparkling garden fountains and opulent chandeliers at the Taglyan Complex created a fantastical environment, setting the tone for this 2 day event of art and fashion shows hitting the runway.
EDGE congratulates the multi-talented designer line-up that hit the runway Tuesday evening, October 14th [Artistix, Blindado, Michael Costello, Jaime Elyse Bridal, Nancy Vuu, Mister Triple X, Sachika, Twala Intimates]. EDGE’s philosophy recognizes designer Simplicio Michael Luis Asis Herrera also known as ‘M’. His Eco-friendly M The Movement street-wear line for men and women is one of the hottest in the nation. His sexy and sassy appeal along with interesting combinations of fabric paired with whimsical and wearable designs is the ‘out of the box” vision that EDGE applauds. The other noteworthy brand from an EDGE perspective was Rachael Boussard’s R. Michel’le with her clean feminine lines, vibrant colors, and unexpected panel cut-outs.
As for the art. . . there should be an interesting and powerful separate, yet equal dynamic of exhibiting both art and fashion in one event. There’s room to improve on this execution. I’m sure we’ll stay tuned.
