EDGE – Emerging Designers GOT EDGE – is seeking an intern interested in being part of an international fashion b2b project.  The intern will work with the principal, Rhonda P. Hill, who is an accomplished business leader in the fashion and entertainment industry.  The intern will possess an interest or passion for fashion; the arts; entertainment; and/or related fields.  The intern will learn the importance of viable market research and business development in a unique online/offline fashion project.  He/she will assist in the research, identify and market to a targeted consumer, develop the database, and establish and maintain connections to this audience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general marketing support.
  • Accompany the owner in grass root market study – attending fashion market events; meeting with designers and retailers.  Monitor market study feedback and analysis.
  • Assist in identifying and building database of targeted market of retailers, designers, and industry professionals.
  • Execute and monitor online and offline outreach, connection, and promotion using email, social media, website, direct marketing, and other related media to this market.
  • Seek opportunities to cross promote or develop strategic alliance.
  • Under direction of the principal, write and send press releases and related collateral materials.
  • Assist in internet content and image monitoring.
  • As business develops may assist in coordination of fashion exhibition and related events.
  • Ability to be flexible and handle any task put before them.

Requirements

  • Use of a your own PC, smartphone
  • Ability to travel to local fashion markets, California Central Coast and Los Angeles area, is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of social media, the use of each social media channel
  • Ability to take and edit photos useful for internet material is a plus
  • Strong interest in fashion, entertainment, the arts, and marketing
  • Ability to take initiative and handle any task.

Educational Focus, Related Background, or Major

Fashion, Marketing, Journalism, Business or related field.  Entrepreneurial mindset is helpful.

Hill, who is an accomplished business leader in the fashion and entertainment industry.  The intern will possess an interest or passion for fashion; the arts; entertainment; and/or related fields.  The intern will learn the importance of quality editorial content and how it impacts visibility and exposure of a brand.  He/she will participate in content development through market research, identifying and understanding the targeted audience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying and building database of targeted market of retailers, designers, and industry professionals.

  • In building website content, accompany the owner in grass root market study – attending fashion market events; meeting with designers, retailers, and industry professionals.
  • Identity and understand targeted audience – study website analytics.
  • Develop and execute a content plan with consistent published features to the targeted audience.
  • Initiate, write, and publish original feature stories from market study or other industry story opportunities.
  • Request and follow-up on editorial interviews through email inquiry.
  • Submit and follow-up with questionnaire and content layout to interviewees.  Assist in publishing interview features.
  • Seek opportunities to cross promote content or develop strategic alliance.
